THis may be due to the fact that we did *NOT* lubricate as directed.Word to the new shredder owner: Dont skip applying the lube. Make sure you do so in conjunction with your recommended lubricating. The lube speeds things up marginally but our shredder stops with the bin full light on frequently when the bin is not even half full. This stuff would have saved me problems and even now will extend the life of the shredder. I have used my large 15 page shredder for several years and regretably lubricated it only recently. First with olive oil and now with this Fellowes lubricant. We shredded many years of our parents ancient tax, medical and other statements over a several month period and really should have lubricated much sooner.I note that you are supposed to put the shredder in reverse for a minute periodically which we have done probably 10 times.
I recommend the product. No packaging (except the bottle) to prevent spilling, and yet it did not spill or burst and ruin my books. It oils the shredder as advertised.
If you cut to low as I did then you will soak the blades for too much oil will come out. There is no mark or instructions on where the tip should be cut trimmed.
Oil comes out of container too fast and is hard to stop. this is a messy container of lubricant for the confetti cut shredder.
Purchased their Fellows Powershred Oil to lubricate the cutters, to hopefully keep this shredder in operation for several years to come. I have a Fellows confetti cut shredder, totally believe in their products.
